That’s the thinking of Joel Kotkin, a well-known urban expert at Chapman University in Orange, Calif., who sees a bright outlook for older Midwestern cities like ours. “It is affordable, it has a decent infrastructure, it has very nice places to live both in the city and outside the city,” Kotkin says.
